History of Building

Walnut Creek Elementary School, home of the Wildcats, opened its doors in the fall of 2000 to serve the rapidly growing southwestern part of Papillion. Proudly displaying blue and silver as its colors, the school was part of the district's response to continued growth in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Designed with modern educational needs in mind, Walnut Creek features flexible learning spaces and advanced technology integration. These innovative design elements support the school's commitment to providing a cutting-edge learning environment for its students.

The Wildcat mascot, symbolizing independence, adaptability, and strength, reflects the school's dedication to fostering these qualities in its students. This aligns with Walnut Creek's focus on preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly evolving world.

As part of the 2023 Bond project, Walnut Creek is set to receive several important upgrades. These improvements include installing a secure entrance that routes visitors through the office, adding a finishing kitchen to allow for an additional entree and permanent ware, updating the playground, and making minor interior updates. These enhancements will further modernize the school and improve safety and security for students and staff.
